YS Family Drama: Sharmila To Take On Avinash Reddy In Kadapa In LS Polls?
The political scene in the Telugu states is abuzz with the news that Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy and PCC president YS Sharmila are set to contest in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh.
This occasion marks a significant moment, akin to an event in 2011 when YS Vijayamma and YS Vivekananda Reddy from the YS family contested elections from different parties. The internal dynamics within the YS family are drawing widespread attention.

In the past, the Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) capitalized on the political climate following YS Vivekananda Reddy's (Viveka's) murder to dominate the Kadapa district in the elections. However, current developments indicate a shift.
Viveka's daughter, Sunita, publicly challenges her uncle, Chief Minister Jagan, over the stalled investigation into her father's murder, despite being successful in pushing for a CBI inquiry through the High Court.
Amidst these family tensions, Sunita, together with her aunt YS Sharmila, organized a remembrance meeting for Viveka, urging attendees to withhold their support from the YSRCP in future elections.
Reports suggest that Sharmila might soon declare her candidacy for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, spurred by apparent pressure from the party high command. This development has sparked conversations within the family about the potential impact on the YS family's image in Kadapa should they decide to contest.
Sharmila plans to visit Idupulapaya in the coming days for discussions with family members. The discourse is expected to cover her disagreements with Jagan and her reasons for considering a bid for MP. Political observers anticipate that if Sharmila does announce her candidacy at Idupulapaya YSR Ghat, it could significantly influence the local political scene. This is particularly relevant given the allegations made by Sunita and Sharmila against Avinash Reddy, accusing him of being involved in Viveka’s murder, an accusation that could garner public sympathy.
The contest for the Kadapa MP seat thus reflects not just a political battle but a deeply personal family drama involving allegations, loss, and the quest for justice. As these events unfold, all eyes will be on the YS family, watching closely how these internal dynamics could shape the future political landscape of Andhra Pradesh.
