FIR Against Pune Govt Officer For Recording Private Videos Of Wife, Blackmailing

In a deeply disturbing case of alleged abuse and digital blackmail, a Pune-based government employee has accused her husband and his family of secretly recording her private videos and using the footage to threaten and extort money from her family. The complaint was lodged at the Ambegaon police station.

According to the woman's statement, her husband covertly recorded intimate moments without her knowledge. He later used the footage as leverage, demanding ₹1.5 lakh from her parents and allegedly threatening to circulate the videos if they failed to comply.

The woman, who married the accused in 2020, said the ordeal began when her husband pressured her family for financial help to pay car loan EMIs. When they refused, she alleges that she was physically assaulted and subjected to mental harassment. Over time, the situation escalated, leading to blackmail involving the secret recordings.

The complaint also names her husband's mother, three sisters, and two brothers-in-law, accusing them of supporting or participating in the harassment. Police have booked all seven individuals under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges of cruelty, causing hurt, and criminal intimidation.

An officer from the Ambegaon police station confirmed that the investigation is underway. "We are treating the case seriously, particularly the digital privacy violation aspect. The woman's allegations are grave and being verified," the officer said.
