Chennai Gold Price On April 1: Today's LBJA Rates In GRT Jewellers, Lalitha Jewellery, Kota Jewellery

Chennai's bullion market witnessed steady yet slightly varied gold and silver prices across leading jewellery retailers on Wednesday, reflecting ongoing global trends and local demand patterns. From T Nagar to Sowcarpet, buyers and traders kept a close watch on rates as the wedding season momentum continued to influence purchasing decisions across Tamil Nadu.

Gold and Silver Rates At Leading Chennai Jewellery Stores

At GRT Jewellers, one of the city's most prominent retail chains, 22-carat gold was priced at ₹13,705 per gram, while 24-carat gold stood at ₹14,962 per gram. Lower purity variants were also actively traded, with 18-carat gold at ₹11,221 and 14-carat gold at ₹8,727 per gram. Silver prices remained stable at ₹250 per gram, aligning with the broader Chennai market trend.

Similarly, Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers quoted 24-carat gold at ₹14,880 per gram, slightly lower than some competitors, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹13,630 per gram. The rate for 18-carat gold was ₹11,160 per gram. Silver prices here were also consistent at ₹250 per gram, indicating minimal volatility in the white metal segment.

In contrast, Kota Gold Jewellery reported comparatively higher rates, with 24-carat gold priced at ₹15,148 per gram and 22-carat gold at ₹13,885 per gram. Bulk rates showed a proportional increase, with 10 grams of 24-carat gold costing ₹1,51,480. Silver prices here were marginally higher at ₹255 per gram, with one kilogram reaching ₹2,55,000, reflecting slight fluctuations in wholesale trading.

Meanwhile, Lalitha Jewellery listed 24-carat gold at ₹13,705 per gram, notably lower than other retailers, making it an attractive option for price-sensitive buyers. Silver remained at ₹250 per gram, consistent with the prevailing market average.

At Saravana Stores Elite Jewellery, 22-carat gold was priced slightly lower at ₹13,625 per gram, offering competitive pricing in the crowded Chennai jewellery market. Silver here too was unchanged at ₹250 per gram.

Market experts attribute the variation in gold prices across retailers to factors such as sourcing costs, making charges, and hedging strategies. International cues, including fluctuations in the US dollar and geopolitical uncertainties, continue to influence bullion rates. However, local demand in Tamil Nadu-especially driven by weddings, festivals, and investment buying-remains a key stabilising factor.

Traders in Chennai note that while gold prices have seen minor day-to-day changes, overall sentiment remains positive. Many buyers are opting for 22-carat jewellery due to its balance between purity and durability, while 24-carat gold continues to attract investors.

Silver, on the other hand, has shown remarkable stability, hovering around ₹250-₹255 per gram across major retailers. Industrial demand and steady retail interest have helped maintain its price range.

With the peak wedding season approaching, jewellers across Chennai are expecting increased footfall in the coming weeks. Attractive offers, discounts on making charges, and flexible purchase schemes are likely to further boost sales.

For now, Chennai's gold market reflects a blend of stability and subtle competition, giving consumers multiple options to choose from while keeping a close eye on price movements.
