Two Labourers Killed In Tragic Scaffolding Collapse At Under-Construction Building In Greater Noida, Probe On
At least two labourers lost their lives and one sustained injuries after scaffolding at an under-construction building collapsed in Greater Noida's Sector 144 on Sunday, triggering a swift rescue and investigation by local authorities.

The incident occurred at a construction site reportedly belonging to Shri Mahavir Construction Company. According to initial reports, the scaffolding suddenly gave way while labourers were working, leading to the fatal accident. The exact cause of the collapse, however, is yet to be determined.
Local residents were among the first to respond, rushing to the site to assist the injured. The injured labourer was quickly transported to a nearby private hospital for treatment. Authorities said more details about his condition are awaited.
Rescue And Investigation Underway
Police personnel reached the spot soon after receiving information about the collapse and began an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Officials are working to establish the sequence of events that led to the scaffolding giving way and the resulting deaths.
An NDRF team was also deployed to the site as a precautionary measure to ensure that no other workers remained trapped under debris. Local administrative officials, including the District Magistrate, visited the location to assess the situation and oversee rescue and recovery efforts.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Noida, also issued a statement on social media platform X, confirming the incident and ongoing investigation.
Supervisors Questioned, Identities Yet To Be Confirmed
While no arrests have been made so far, police have taken two site supervisors into custody for questioning as part of the preliminary probe. Authorities are examining whether safety norms were followed at the construction site.
The identities of the deceased labourers have not yet been established, and efforts are underway to inform their families. Officials said further details will emerge once the investigation progresses and statements from witnesses and construction staff are recorded.
The tragic incident has once again raised concerns about safety standards at construction sites, as authorities continue to probe possible negligence and ensure accountability.
