Responding to the discussion on the Governor's address, the Chief Minister spoke for nearly two hours and 13 minutes, outlining the government's achievements, presenting budget priorities, and criticising the Samajwadi Party (SP).
Social Pension Hike To Be Declared By Monday
During his address, Yogi said, "The social pension amount for beneficiaries will be increased. Funds have already been allocated in the budget, but the announcement has not yet been made." He added that the official declaration would come by Monday.
At present, about 1.06 crore destitute women, persons with disabilities, and elderly citizens receive a pension of ₹1,000 per month, amounting to ₹12,000 annually. With financial provisions already secured, the Chief Minister's statement signals a significant relief for vulnerable sections across the state.
CM Addresses Shankaracharya Issue, Emphasises Equal Law
The Chief Minister also spoke about the position of the Shankaracharya, stressing that rules apply equally to everyone. He said, "Can anyone travel across the entire state as a Chief Minister or roam around as a minister? The Shankaracharya holds the highest position in Sanatan Dharma. During the Magh Mela, on the day of Mauni Amavasya, there were 4.5 crore devotees. The law is equal for all."
Highlighting religious traditions, he noted, "Adi Shankaracharya established four peethas. Each has its own Vedas, and each Veda has its own mantras. A person becomes a Shankaracharya only after certification from a council of scholars based on knowledge of the Vedas. Not everyone can write Shankaracharya before their name. Everyone must follow established boundaries."
Questioning past actions, he said, "If he is a Shankaracharya, why was he beaten in 2015? Why was an FIR filed?" He further warned that standing at an exit meant for devotees could have invited a stampede and added, "We are disciplined and know how to follow the law and ensure it is followed. The SP should stop misleading people on every issue."
Strong Stand On Vande Mataram
Speaking about the national song, the Chief Minister remarked, "No one can oppose Vande Mataram at a BJP programme, and whoever does should be shown the door." He continued, "Vande Mataram should be implemented within the party. Those who oppose it have no right to live on the land of Hindustan."
He also criticised certain groups, saying, "They bow to Babur and oppose Vande Mataram. They go to offer prayers at the graves of mafia figures. They should go where such opposition is accepted. Who were the people visiting the graves of mafia?"
Targets SP Over Ghazi And Religious Matters
Continuing his attack on the opposition, Yogi said, "The development of the Ram Temple, Kashi temple, and Mathura was opposed. Celebrations of Janmashtami were stopped in jails and police stations."
He added, "The SP, which supports the Ghazi fair, should remember that we built a memorial for the brave King Suheldev, who defeated Ghazi," asserting that his government honours historical heroes while advancing cultural development.
