US President Donald Trump drew attention at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos after visible bruises were seen on both his hands during a public signing ceremony.

The marks were noticeable as the 79-year-old president unveiled his new international initiative, called the "Board of Peace," in front of global leaders.

Bruises Visible During Davos Event

The bruising on President Trump's hands was clearly seen when he held up the signed founding charter of the newly announced Board of Peace. A dark mark was visible on his right hand, along with a deeper bruise on his left. While speaking at the event, his hands were mostly hidden behind the lectern, but the marks were visible during moments when he raised his hands.

Trump delivered a long and informal speech while introducing the initiative for the second day in a row at Davos. During his address, he described the Board of Peace as a major global body and said it had already begun functioning. He also claimed that many countries were eager to be part of the group.

Health Background and Past Disclosures

President Trump, who is on track to become the oldest sitting US president, has spoken openly about his health in the past. He takes a daily aspirin as a blood thinner to manage chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that can cause swelling in the lower legs and may also make bruising more common.

Earlier this year, the White House physician released a health memo stating that Trump was in excellent overall health. The report mentioned that his high cholesterol is well controlled and noted conditions such as diverticulosis and actinic keratosis. It also confirmed that he takes medication for cholesterol, daily aspirin for heart health, and topical treatment for skin issues when needed.

Trump has frequently defended his fitness, once claiming he was healthier than former President Barack Obama, who is significantly younger. Despite the visible bruising at Davos, the White House has not indicated any change in his health status.

Mixed Global Response to 'Board of Peace'

According to officials, leaders from around 20 countries have agreed to join the Board of Peace. These include nations such as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Vietnam, and Azerbaijan. However, several key NATO allies, including Canada and the United Kingdom, chose not to participate.

Their decision reportedly came after Trump invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to join the group. Putin has been accused internationally of war crimes related to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which has been going on for nearly four years.

During the ceremony, Trump referred to the participating leaders as personal friends and made off-the-cuff remarks while scanning the stage. He joked about liking all of them, adding that it was unusual for him not to dislike at least a few people in a group.
