Fresh Video Out Of The Horrifying Bus Accident In J&K's Doda That Killed 10 Indian Jawans, Several Injured

Just two days before Republic Day 2026, the country is shaken by a tragic road accident in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district that claimed the lives of ten Indian Army personnel. The bus that met with the accident, 21 soldiers were onboard.

The incident has cast a shadow over Republic Day preparations, even as security agencies remain on high alert following fresh threat inputs.

Army Vehicle Falls Into Gorge in Doda

The accident took place on Thursday when a bulletproof Army vehicle, a Casspir, skidded off the Bhaderwah-Chamba interstate road near Khanni Top and plunged into a deep gorge. Officials said the vehicle was heading for an operational duty when it lost control on the hilly stretch.

Ten soldiers were killed on the spot, while ten others sustained serious injuries. The injured personnel were later airlifted to a hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Authorities said efforts were made to rescue the soldiers as quickly as possible despite the difficult terrain.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed deep sorrow over the loss. In a message posted on X, he said the nation would always remember the courage, service, and sacrifice of the fallen soldiers. He added that senior officials have been directed to ensure the best possible treatment for the injured.

The Army's White Knight Corps also confirmed the incident, stating that the vehicle slipped off the road while navigating difficult terrain in bad weather conditions. The corps said the injured have been evacuated and further investigation is underway.

Security Heightened After Suspicious Threat Alerts

Meanwhile, security agencies across the country have stepped up vigilance following suspicious online messages mentioning "26-26" ahead of Republic Day. Intelligence agencies have taken the alerts seriously, especially amid inputs about possible threats from Pakistan-based terrorist outfits, sources said.

As a precaution, security has been tightened in Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, and other sensitive locations, including major religious sites across India. Ayodhya's Ram Temple is also among the places where security has been strengthened.

Following the alerts, Delhi Police has issued a critical list of wanted individuals along with their photographs. Authorities are keeping a close watch and have increased patrols, checks, and surveillance to prevent any untoward incident during Republic Day celebrations.

The tragic loss of soldiers in Doda and the heightened security measures underline the challenges faced by the country as it prepares to mark Republic Day, with the nation mourning its brave soldiers while standing alert against potential threats.
