Bihar Cabinet 2025 Portfolios: Who's Got What in Nitish Kumar's New Government?

Nitish Kumar has formally assigned portfolios to the ministers in his new NDA government. After taking oath for a record tenth term as chief minister, he retained key departments related to general administration, cabinet secretariat and vigilance, along with any department not assigned to others. The BJP's Samrat Choudhary has taken charge of home affairs as deputy chief minister.

Power Sharing in the New Cabinet

The oath ceremony at Gandhi Maidan saw Kumar's two deputies, Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, take charge alongside him. Twenty four additional ministers were sworn in, representing JD(U), BJP, LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM and RLM. Together, they mark the National Democratic Alliance's return to power with 202 seats in the 243 member Assembly.
