Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Critiques AAP for Failing to Deliver on Punjab Promises

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini has accused the Aam Aadmi Party of failing to fulfil its promises in Punjab, highlighting the BJP's commitment to delivering on its pledges in Haryana ahead of the October 2024 elections.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for not fulfilling its promises in Punjab. He claimed that the AAP government has lost the trust of the public. In contrast, Saini highlighted the dedication of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana, aiming to achieve the vision of 'Viksit Bharat-Viksit Haryana' by 2047 under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

During an event, Saini mentioned that before the October 2024 Haryana elections, the BJP had pledged 217 commitments in its Sankalp Patra manifesto. According to him, 54 of these promises have already been fulfilled, and significant progress is being made on the rest. This statement was part of an official release.

BJP's Progress and AAP's Shortcomings

Saini contrasted this with neighbouring Punjab and Himachal Pradesh, where he claimed that promises by AAP and Congress remain largely unfulfilled. He accused AAP of making grand promises before elections but failing to deliver once in power. He also criticised contradictory statements from AAP leaders regarding compensation for flood-affected farmers.

He pointed out discrepancies in compensation claims for farmers affected by recent floods. While Punjab's government promised Rs 20,000 per acre, AAP's national convener stated Rs 50,000 per acre was provided in Gujarat. Saini argued these contradictions reveal the true state of AAP governance.

Challenges in Punjab

Saini expressed concerns about Punjab's youth facing drug abuse issues and lack of job opportunities. He stated that people are disillusioned with the current government and are eager for a change. He believes that the people of Punjab are now inclined towards bringing a BJP government to power.

The upcoming polls in Punjab are set for early next year. Saini emphasised his commitment to values such as respect, tradition, and service in his public life. He mentioned wearing a turban as a symbol of cultural heritage and reverence for the Gurus, not as a political statement.

Haryana's Agricultural Achievements

Saini frequently visits neighbouring Punjab, often seen wearing a turban during these visits. Highlighting Haryana's achievements, he claimed it is the only state where all 24 crops are procured at minimum support price (MSP). Payments are credited directly into farmers' bank accounts within 48 hours.

This approach underscores Haryana's commitment to supporting its agricultural sector effectively. The state's proactive measures aim to ensure farmers receive timely payments and fair prices for their produce.

Saini's remarks reflect his confidence in BJP's governance model compared to its rivals. His statements aim to showcase BJP's achievements while criticising opposition parties for their perceived shortcomings.
