The plans, released as part of the broader metropolitan development strategy, are expected to affect multiple survey numbers spread across villages in the Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad districts.
Corridor No. 131 to Bridge Key Connectivity Gaps
At the centre of the proposal is a missing link road between Bairagiguda and Narsingi (Shankerpalli Road), extending further to Manchirevula. Identified as Corridor No. 131, the stretch is designed to connect the Narsingi APPA Service Road with the Chevela - Radha Realty Corporation Road through Mantri Euphoria, creating a more seamless travel route in the region.
According to the draft variations published in the Telangana Gazette, the corridor will pass through Manchirevula, Narsingi, Bairagiguda, and Ibrahimbagh villages. In Manchirevula alone, more than 30 survey numbers fall within the proposed alignment, signalling a significant footprint for the project.
Road Widening Plans Across Several Localities
The Pipeline Road widening has been planned in two stages. The first phase will run from Shankarpally Road at MGIT to Manikonda, while the second will extend from Manikonda to Shaikpet. Properties located in Kokapet, Narsingi, Puppalaguda, Pappalaguda, Manikonda Khalsa, and Shaikpet are likely to be impacted by these developments.
Another major intervention involves widening the Neknampur Lake Road. Lands situated in Neknampur village of Gandipet Mandal, along with areas in Ibrahimbagh under Golkonda in Hyderabad, are expected to come under the project's scope.
In addition, authorities have proposed a new service road from ORR Exit 18A running alongside the Musi River, along with grid road links near Alekya to strengthen the surrounding transport network.
Multiple Villages Covered Under Existing Master Plans
HMDA clarified that the proposed alignments lie within regions already governed by established master plans. These include the HUDA Master Plan (2008) for the Himayatnagar zone and the Metropolitan Development Plan-2031 (MDP-2031) covering Moinabad-Rajendranagar.
The latest notification acts as a draft variation intended to formally incorporate these routes into statutory development plans as Master Plan Roads. This procedural step is considered essential for advancing land acquisition and future infrastructure planning.
Public Consultation Begins; Land Acquisition Likely
With the publication of the draft, the public consultation phase has officially commenced. HMDA has urged residents and property owners in the affected villages to carefully review the notification.
"Affected parties and concerned citizens should verify whether their property survey numbers are listed. They may submit objections or suggestions to HMDA within the specified time frame in the official notification."
Once completed, the expanded road network is expected to improve east-west connectivity, shorten travel time to the IT hubs of Gachibowli and HITEC City, and reduce congestion on key stretches such as Shankarpally Road. However, the projects are also expected to require substantial land acquisition, potentially impacting agricultural fields, open tracts, and residential areas in Hyderabad's peripheral villages.
