Jolly LLB 3 Lands In Soup; Pune Court Summons Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi For 'Disrespecting Judiciary'

Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi have been summoned by a civil court in Pune along with director Subhash Kapoor in connection with their upcoming film Jolly LLB 3. The court has directed the actors to appear in person on October 28 at 11 am after a petition claimed the film insults the legal profession.

The petition, filed by lawyer Wajed Rahim Khan, takes issue with a scene in which judges are referred to as "mama," a slang term he argues disrespects both advocates and the judiciary.

For Akshay and Arshad, the summons come just weeks after the film's teaser release. The two actors, who have separately headlined earlier instalments of the popular legal comedy, are appearing together in the franchise for the first time.

Warsi's original Jolly LLB (2013) became a sleeper hit, while Kumar's Jolly LLB 2 (2017) turned into a massive box-office success, earning over ₹200 crore worldwide. The third film brings both stars face to face as rival Jollys in what is being billed as a courtroom showdown.

Despite the legal controversy, the film is directed by Kapoor and produced by Star Studio 18, remains on track for its September 19, 2025 release, with fans eagerly awaiting to see the two actors square off on screen.
