Actor-turned-politician and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay has reportedly landed in legal trouble during his election campaign in Tamil Nadu.

According to reports, a case has been filed against him for allegedly violating Election Commission rules ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls.

As per available information, Vijay has been booked by the Peravallur Police in Chennai under multiple sections. The complaint was reportedly filed by an election official who accused him of not following the Model Code of Conduct during campaigning.

Earlier, Vijay had filed his nominations from Perambur and Trichy East constituencies. During his campaign speeches, he strongly criticised the ruling DMK government.
