Chennai Gold & Silver Price On February 13: Is It Cheaper Or Costlier On Friday?

Gold prices in Chennai witnessed steady movement on Friday, February 13, offering key cues for investors and jewellery buyers tracking the bullion market closely. According to the latest update at 10:50 AM bullions website, both gold and silver rates reflected firm trends across purity categories.

Gold Rate Today in Chennai (February 13)

The price of 24 Karat gold, considered the purest form, stood at ₹15,481 per gram. For bulk buyers, the rate was ₹1,54,810 for 10 grams and ₹15,48,100 for 100 grams. One kilogram of 24K gold was priced at ₹1,54,81,000, while one ounce cost ₹4,38,879 and one tola was quoted at ₹1,80,567, the data on the website claimed.

Meanwhile, 22 Karat gold, which is widely used for jewellery making, was priced at ₹14,191 per gram. The rate for 10 grams stood at ₹1,41,909, and ₹14,19,092 for 100 grams. A kilogram of 22K gold was valued at ₹1,41,90,917.

Lower purity variants also saw corresponding pricing:

20 Karat gold: ₹12,901 per gram

18 Karat gold: ₹11,611 per gram

16 Karat gold: ₹10,321 per gram

14 Karat gold: ₹9,031 per gram

12 Karat gold: ₹7,741 per gram

10 Karat gold: ₹6,450 per gram

Jewellers note that 22K gold remains the preferred choice for traditional ornaments, especially with the wedding season driving demand. Investors, however, continue to favour 24K gold for long-term holdings.

Silver prices also remained firm in the Chennai bullion market.

Silver 999 Fine, the purest form of silver, was priced at ₹244 per gram. The rate stood at ₹2,440 for 10 grams, ₹24,399 for 100 grams, and ₹2,43,990 per kilogram. One ounce of silver was quoted at ₹6,917, while one tola cost ₹2,846.

Other silver categories were priced as follows:

Silver 925 Sterling: ₹226 per gram (₹2,25,691 per kg)

Silver 900 Coin: ₹220 per gram (₹2,19,591 per kg)

Silver 800 German: ₹195 per gram (₹1,95,192 per kg)

Price Movement

The data indicates an upward trend in silver prices. Silver 999 per kilogram was reported at ₹1,52,740, marking a 1.36% increase, while another benchmark showed ₹2,38,360 per kilogram, reflecting a sharper 2.36% gain. The divergence may be attributed to different trading segments or wholesale-retail benchmarks.

Market experts attribute the firmness in precious metal prices to global cues, currency fluctuations, and steady domestic demand. With international gold rates remaining volatile and the rupee's movement influencing import costs, local bullion prices continue to respond swiftly to global developments.
