Taylor Fritz and Grigor Dimitrov Advance at Rain-Delayed Shanghai Masters
At the Shanghai Masters, Taylor Fritz and Grigor Dimitrov finally wrapped up their second-round matches on Monday. Fritz, ranked seventh, faced Terence Atmane from France. Their match was interrupted by rain on Saturday at the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena. Fritz eventually won 7-6 (4), 7-6 (5) after two tiebreakers. He will next face Japanese qualifier Yosuke Watanuki in the third round.

Dimitrov, playing his 100th Masters event, resumed his match against Zizou Bergs with a set lead but was down a break in the second set. The Belgian, ranked 73rd, took advantage to win the second set. Dimitrov then broke Bergs three times, losing just one service game, to secure a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 victory. The Bulgarian will meet Australian Alexei Popyrin in the next round.
Rain Disruptions and Other Matches
Rain continued to disrupt play, leading to cancellations on outdoor courts. Matches involving players like Stefanos Tsitsipas were rescheduled for Tuesday. Under the retractable roof, Frances Tiafoe from the U.S. defeated China's Zhou Yi 6-2, 6-4. Tallon Griekspoor also advanced by beating Jordan Thompson 6-3, 6-2.
Holger Rune of Denmark came back from a set down to defeat Italy's Matteo Berrettini 4-6, 6-4, 6-3. Meanwhile, Lorenzo Musetti seemed poised for an easy win but faltered against David Goffin. The Belgian triumphed 1-6, 7-6 (6), 6-2 and will face Marcos Giron next after Giron beat Karen Khachanov 6-4, 6-3.
Wuhan Open Highlights
In Wuhan, Beatriz Haddad-Maia of Brazil defeated Madison Keys from the U.S. with a score of 7-6 (7), 6-2 in their opening match. Haddad-Maia converted five out of eight break points while Keys managed three from twelve opportunities. Leylah Fernandez from Canada rallied to overcome Diana Shnaider in three sets: 6-7 (7), 6-3, 6-3.
Anna Kalinskaya easily dispatched Anna Bondár with a scoreline of 6-1, 6-3. Donna Vekic also advanced by defeating Elise Mertens after dropping the first set: 3-6, 6-1, 6-3. Rain affected play in Wuhan as well, suspending matches on outside courts.
Flavio Cobolli edged past Stan Wawrinka in a tight contest: 6-7 (6), 7-6 (4), 6-3. Cobolli's victory sets up a third-round clash with Novak Djokovic, who holds a record four titles at this event.
The top eight seeds at the Wuhan Open received byes into the second round. This group includes Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff, who recently won the China Open.
