WPL 2024: Here's A Big News For Royal Challengers Bangalore And Delhi Capitals Fans

WPL 2024: Cricket fans around the world are excited as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to organize the Women's Premier League (WPL 2024) out of the financial capital this year. The cricket governing body's decision came after an overwhelming response from fans to the Women's Premier League's (WPL 2024) inaugural edition. According to the reports, the WPL 2024 matches will be held in Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium and M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, home grounds to Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

For the unversed, there are five franchise teams in the competition namely, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Titans, UP Warriors, and Delhi Capitals. The inaugural title was bagged by Nita Ambani-owned Mumbai side. A total of 22 matches will be played between the five teams to claim the glittering trophy.

Last year, all matches were played at DY Patil Stadium and Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, but this time the board has decided to conduct matches at other teams' home grounds.

"Women IPL will be held in Delhi and Bangalore this year Board aims to make League bigger and better," a BCCI source was quoted by ANI.

The much-awaited second edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL 2024) is tentatively slated for February, ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) which has been scheduled for March this year.
