Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, Smashes Historic 108 in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

Fourteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi delivered another breakout performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, blasting an unbeaten 108 off 61 balls for Bihar against Maharashtra at Eden Gardens. The opener's maiden century in India's premier domestic T20 tournament highlighted his rapid rise through age-group and senior cricket.

Vaibhav brought up his hundred in 57 balls against Prithvi Shaw-led Maharashtra, hammering seven fours and seven sixes. Despite a challenging Kolkata surface that offered little for stroke-makers, the right-hander controlled the innings throughout and guided Bihar to 176 for 3.

Youngest Centurion in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy History

Carrying his bat for 108*, Vaibhav scored more than half of Bihar's total. The team was struggling at 31 for 2 inside the powerplay after dismissals of Bipin Saurabh and Piyush Kumar Singh, but Vaibhav's 70-run partnership with Aakash Raj steadied the innings.

Vaibhav's rise has been meteoric. He debuted in the Ranji Trophy at age 12 and became the youngest IPL centurion in league history with a 38-ball 101 for Rajasthan Royals. At the Under-19 level, he also smashed a 78-ball hundred against Australia, the fastest by an Indian in U-19 Tests.
