Shikhar Dhawan Confirms Relationship with Irish Woman Sophie, Shares 'My Love' Post on Instagram

After divorce, Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has found love once more. On Thursday, Dhawan took to Instagram to officially confirm his relationship with Sophie Shine. Sharing a photo of the couple together, he captioned it simply, "My love," making their romance public for the first time.

Sophie Shine is an Irish national and currently works as the Second Vice President - Product Consultant at Northern Trust Corporation, a prominent American financial services firm. The two reportedly met in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), where Sophie resides.

This marks a new chapter in Dhawan's personal life after his previous marriage to Aesha Mukherji, an Indian-Australian former kickboxer and entrepreneur. The couple divorced in 2021 following irreconcilable differences, particularly concerning Aesha's reluctance to move to India and disagreements over property investments in Australia.

During the divorce proceedings, an Indian court observed that Dhawan had endured significant emotional distress due to the marriage. The judgment noted that the actions of his former spouse had caused "cruelty, agony, and trauma," ultimately leading to the breakdown of their relationship. The separation also led to a difficult custody battle over their son, Zoravar.

Dhawan, who officially retired from all forms of competitive cricket in August 2024, is now beginning a new phase of his life-off the field and in love again.
