IPL 2025 Officials Slap Fine On Digvijay Rathi: Simon Doull Raises Objection
Former New Zealand cricketer and expert Simon Doull has raised objections to IPL officials' action against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spinner Digvesh Singh Rathi. The wrist-spinner was recently fined for his out-of-the-box celebrations after taking a wicket. Rathi was spotted signing an imaginary notebook after dismissing Punjab Kings batter.
Notably, the cricket got fined twice for same actions.

First, Digvesh was slapped with 25% match fees fine and a demerit point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct, while second time, he had to pay 50 % of his match fees fine.
Batting for young Indian cricketer, Simon Doull said several other players do worse than these actions, but they never face actions. He is facing harsh actions, just because he is an uncapped player?
"The team have got to be paying that (the fines). I don't like it. I love the celebrations, I don't think he has done anything at all wrong. I've seen senior Indian players do way worse, be in your face, and not get a fine. They are making an example out of a young man who is what, making a note in his notebook?" Simon Doull said in a conversation with Cricbuzz.
Digvesh Rathi is a raising LSG star, who has left impact with turning ball making it difficult for national and international cricketers including some big names. So far, he has notched 7 wickets in 5 IPL matches.
