IPL 2025: Hardik Pandya Calls Mumbai Indians Squad 'A Balanced Side'
Ahead of the much anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL 2025), Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya reviewed his new team and shared his thoughts. Many new faces have been added to the squad at IPL 2025 mega auction. According to the reports, Hardik Pandya is in constant touch with MI management and has expressed satisfaction with all new picks at IPL auction held in Jeddah on November 24 and 25, 2024.
Mumbai Indians entered the IPL 2025 auction with a limited budget of Rs 45 crore. They faced difficulties in securing their desired players. Their most significant acquisition was Trent Boult, a seasoned Kiwi pacer, for Rs 12.50 crore. Before signing Boult, they unsuccessfully bid for fast bowlers like Jofra Archer and Mitchell Starc.

Mumbai's Auction Strategy
Despite setbacks, Hardik Pandya expressed contentment with Mumbai's new signings for IPL 2025. He highlighted a balanced mix of seasoned and young players. "I was in touch with the table as well," Hardik stated in a video by Mumbai Indians. "We have found the right mix... experienced players like Boulty (Trent Boult) is back... young guns like Will Jacks."
The franchise also invested Rs 9.25 crore to bring back former bowler Deepak Chahar. They focused heavily on nurturing young talent by signing players such as Allah Ghazanfar, Raj Angad Bawa, and Bevon Jacobs. This strategy aims to create a dynamic squad capable of competing at high levels.
Squad Composition
The Mumbai Indians' squad for IPL 2025 includes key players like Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav. Other notable members are Jasprit Bumrah and Tilak Varma. The team also features newcomers such as Naman Dhir and Robin Minz alongside seasoned players like Karn Sharma.
In addition to these players, Mumbai has added Reece Topley and Ryan Rickelton to their roster. Young talents like Will Jacks and Allah Ghazanfar are expected to bring fresh energy to the team. The squad also includes Mitchell Santner and Satyanarayana Raju among others.
Future Prospects
Mumbai Indians aim to bounce back after finishing last in IPL 2024 under Hardik Pandya's leadership. With a blend of experience and youth, they hope to improve their performance significantly in the upcoming season.
The team's strategic investments in both experienced players and emerging talents reflect their commitment to building a competitive squad for IPL 2025. Fans eagerly anticipate how these new additions will impact their performance on the field.
