It turned out that Rahul needed to be with his family as he and his wife, Athiya Shetty, anticipate the arrival of their first child. Reports suggest that he left the Delhi team's camp in Visakhapatnam on Sunday to join his family. Fans and teammates are hopeful for his return to the lineup for the second match, where the Capitals will face off against SunRisers Hyderabad in Vizag.

In Rahul's absence, the Delhi Capitals fielded a strong team including Jake Fraser-McGurk, vice-captain Faf du Plessis, fast bowler Mitchell Starc, and Tristan Stubbs as their four overseas players. This match also marked Axar Patel's debut as the full-time captain of the team.
