Ee Sala Cup Namdu: RCB Shuts Down 'Lollipop’ Trolls with IPL 2025 Trophy Win
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is known for its fierce rivalries and passionate fan battles that go beyond the cricket field. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has often been at the center of these moments, inspiring viral chants, memes, and playful banter among fans.
In IPL 2025, RCB finally had the last laugh-ending years of playful mockery with their first-ever IPL trophy win. The cheeky phrase 'Ee Sala Lollipop,' a humorous twist on RCB's iconic chant 'Ee Sala Cup Namde,' had long been a popular joke. But with this historic victory, RCB proudly reclaimed their war cry and turned it into a reality.

Social media posts on the same went viral
What Is Lollipop meme?
RCB's iconic war cry "Ee Sala Cup Namde" (This year, the cup is ours) was mockingly twisted by many-especially those of CSK fans "Ee Sala Lollipopu," meaning "This year, it's just a lollipop." The sarcastic jibe became a viral chant used every time RCB fell short of winning the title, especially during their 18-year trophy drought.
In a 2025 league stage match at Chepauk, CSK fans took the banter to the next level by waving actual lollipops in the stands and holding placards with "Ee Sala Cup Lollipop" written across them. The video quickly went viral on social media, triggering reactions from fans across India.
Allu Arjun's son, Allu Ayaan, was also overjoyed and emotional after RCB won their first IPL title in 18 years. The 11-year-old poured water on his head, lay on the floor, and shouted, "Finally, 18 years," while expressing his love for Virat Kohli, saying, "I got into cricket because of him." Sharing the video, Allu Arjun laughed at his son's excitement and wrote, "Ayaan getting super emotional. #viratkohli fan boy moment. Soo cute my chinni babu." In another clip, Ayaan said, "Finally I cannot say Ee Saala Cup Lollipop," leaving his father in splits.
After 18 years of waiting, RCB finally ended their title drought by winning IPL 2025. The team's stellar performance throughout the tournament culminated in an emotional victory that went beyond just lifting the trophy-it was about reclaiming pride and silencing critics.
Fans didn't forget the trolling. Minutes after the final, #EeSalaCupNamde began trending across social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and YouTube.
