Asia Cup 2025 Full Schedule: Check Date For India Vs Pakistan Match, Time, and Venue

The Asia Cup 2025 is set to witness a thrilling encounter between India and Pakistan on September 14. This eagerly anticipated match is part of the group stage in the tournament, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates from September 9 to 28. The competition will feature six teams vying for the title.

According to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chief Mohsin Naqvi, the tournament will follow a T20 format this year. The matches will take place across two venues in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Despite holding hosting rights, India opted for a neutral venue due to ongoing tensions with Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Asia Cup 2025 Groups

The teams have been divided into two groups: Group A consists of India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman, while Group B includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong. Each group will see two teams advance to the Super Four stage. In this stage, every team plays against each other once.

India and Pakistan could potentially face off three times during the tournament if both advance through their respective stages. Their initial clash is scheduled for September 14, with a possible rematch on September 22 if they qualify for the Super Four.

Asia Cup 2025 Schedule

The group stage kicks off on September 9 with Afghanistan taking on Hong Kong. India's first match is against UAE on September 10. The much-anticipated India vs Pakistan match is slated for September 14. The final showdown of the tournament is scheduled for September 28.

Teams are expected to arrive in the UAE by September 7. It remains uncertain whether any warm-up matches will be organised before the official games begin. The defending champions, India, led by Rohit Sharma, won the previous edition in a 50-over format against Sri Lanka.

Hosting Rights and Financial Aspects

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) holds hosting rights for this eight-team event. Initially hesitant due to security concerns following an attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, India's decision to participate was crucial for financial reasons. Indian sponsors and broadcasters provide significant financial backing for the tournament.

Sony Pictures Networks India secured media rights for Asia Cup events from 2024 onwards at an estimated USD 170 million over eight years. This substantial investment underscores India's pivotal role in ensuring the tournament's success.

The previous Asia Cup was conducted using a hybrid model due to India's refusal to play in Pakistan. Matches were split between Sri Lanka and Pakistan under this arrangement. Similarly, earlier this year, India's matches during the Champions Trophy were played in UAE instead of Pakistan.

The Asia Cup promises exciting cricket action as fans eagerly await potential showdowns between arch-rivals India and Pakistan throughout various stages of this prestigious tournament.
