Ahead Of Ind Vs Aus ICC World Cup Final, States Issue Precautionary Advisories
Ahead of the high-stakes semi-final showdown between India and Australia in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at Gujarat's Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport is gearing up for an influx of travelers into the state. To accommodate the surge in arrivals for the event, the airport is preparing to manage increased traffic and ensure proper facilitation for the visitors.

Meanwhile, Indian Railways has announced special train services to aid those heading to Ahmedabad for the match. Specifically, a special train from Delhi to Ahmedabad is scheduled today, and after the match, a return train will depart from Ahmedabad at 2:30 a.m. Three similar trains are also designated between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to facilitate travel arrangements.
Jitendra Kumar Jayant, Senior PRO of Ahmedabad Division, Indian Railways, highlighted, "Western Railway has arranged special trains from Mumbai to Ahmedabad for cricket enthusiasts traveling to witness the World Cup final," as cited by PTI.
In its recent advisory, SVPI Airport emphasized prioritizing passenger safety and security. The airport authorities encouraged travelers to allot extra time for necessary travel formalities and obligatory security procedures. Additionally, passengers were urged to stay updated on their flight schedules.
The airport issued a statement regarding the expected surge in passenger traffic for the upcoming Cricket World Cup final match, underscoring the need for additional time for travel-related processes and advising vigilance regarding flight schedules. The advisory also highlighted airspace closure for an Indian Air Force air display on November 17th and 19th from 13:25 to 14:10 hours.
Emphasizing their commitment to passengers' safety, security, and convenience, the airport assured that facilitating a smooth travel experience remains their utmost priority.
Chandigarh
The Chandigarh police have also issued an advisory for the residents ahead of the India-Australia cricket world cup final on November 19. The police have stated that activities such as bursting of crackers, playing loud music and organising processions in the city are prohibited.
Additionally, public screening of the match in open spaces requires prior permission. The violation of these rules will result in prosecution under relevant legal sections.
