Wakil Uddin, a brave freedom fighter, a successful politician and a prominent businessman in Bangladesh
Wakil Uddin, in his youth, was a young freedom fighter of a newly independent Bangladesh, having won the war in 1971. He was born in 1954 in a prominent Muslim family in Dhaka. In 1960, in the eastern part of undivided Pakistan, when the freedom-crazed masses were struggling for freedom from exploitation and deprivation, they got involved in the student movement during the fiery days of their youth. At that time, he was always protesting against the exploitation and oppression of the Pakistan government, and he was successfully conducting marches, meetings and mass gatherings from different areas under the former Greater Gulshan police station area.
An all-out movement was formed under the leadership of the legendary leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who led the great freedom movement, which spread rapidly from Dhaka city to all parts of East Pakistan. Later, when Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's party Awami League won a single majority in the 1970 elections, the Pakistan government did not give him the opportunity to form a government, and the Pakistan government followed the path of oppression and torture.

So the seven crore people of East Pakistan burst into anger. Later, on March 7, 1971, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman called for independence. The Great War of Liberation began on 26th March 1971. With the help and training of the Indian allied forces, students, masses, workers, the youth and people from all walks of life jumped into the liberation war. Bangladesh gained independence on 16th December after 9 months of fighting a bloody war. Wakil Uddin received training in India and participated in the Liberation War, where he played the role of commander during the war.
As a student, he became a patriotic freedom fighter, returned to the country, and got re-involved in the politics of the Chhatra League. Later he was elected to various police station-level positions in the Jubo League and Awami League. In 2015, he was promoted to the politics of Dhaka City Awami League. Apart from politics, he focused on establishing a multi-dimensional business organisation. Well known in the capital as a successful businessman associated with the housing business, banking, and leasing company. In political life, he served the people successfully by being elected as chairman, commissioner, and councillor under the local government for 20 years. Since 2008, he has been trying to participate in the National Parliament elections for Bangladesh Awami League, the leading organization in the liberation war, having expressed his interest in the election from Dhaka-17 Constituency. For 40 years, he built various social service institutions in the Gulshan-Banani- Basantek-Cantonment area of Dhaka. Helping orphans and the helpless, building religious and educational institutions or providing financial support. Currently, he is running several business establishments. Such as the immediate past Chairman & Current Director of Mutual Trust Bank Ltd., Bardihara Corporation Ltd., Chairman, Baridhara Agro & Food Processing Ltd., Managing Director, Swadesh Properties Ltd. & Swadesh Global Media Ltd. as well as Director of HURDCO International School. Besides, supreme participation in areas in different social activities, financial donations, and providing treatment to the poor people as well as contributing to the various social needs of the people needing aid.
