WATCH Video | Protests In Delhi After Brampton Temple Attack By Khalistani Extremists
A large protest erupted outside the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi on November 10, 2024, as members of the Hindu Sikh Global Forum gathered to condemn the recent attack on a Hindu temple in Brampton, Canada.
The protestors, including members from the Hindu and Sikh communities, were met with a heavy police presence and halted by the Delhi Police at Teen Murti Marg.

The demonstration was a response to an attack that took place on November 3, where Khalistani extremists reportedly assaulted Hindu devotees, including women and children, with sticks outside the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton. The violent incident has sparked widespread outrage globally, with leaders from various countries condemning the attack.
The Hindu Sikh Global Forum, a coalition of Hindu and Sikh organizations, organized the protest to demand greater action against violence targeting their communities, especially the increasing frequency of temple attacks. Tarvinder Singh Marwah, President of the Hindu Sikh Global Forum, highlighted the growing pattern of attacks on Hindu and Sikh communities, particularly in countries like Canada.
Marwah, speaking to ANI, shared his concern about the negative impact of militancy on an entire generation of people and how these attacks were just another part of a wider agenda to disrupt the unity of the community. He also condemned attempts at forced religious conversions and the introduction of drugs to harm the youth, linking it to the broader agenda of division.
In his speech, Marwah emphasized that true Sikhs could never support the Khalistani movement. "If they want a separate nation, it should be confined to them. We want our tricolour and our country to be respected," he said, urging solidarity with India and rejecting the ideology of Khalistan.
The protests come at a time of rising diplomatic tensions between India and Canada. The Trudeau administration's allegations about India's involvement in the killing of Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun have further strained relations, leading India to recall several of its diplomats from Canada.
The incident in Brampton is one of several temple attacks in Canada, which have raised concerns about the safety and security of Hindu communities in the country. The protest in New Delhi is a reminder of the growing unease within the diaspora, as they continue to demand justice for the victims and greater protection for their religious institutions abroad.
This protest, coupled with the ongoing diplomatic fallout, underscores the increasing pressure on Canada to address issues related to religious intolerance and extremism within its borders.
