UPSC CSE 2025: Timings Changed For Delhi Metro, Haryana Buses, Bengaluru Metro On May 25
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025 is scheduled to be held on May 25, and in view of the large number of candidates expected to travel to their exam centres, special transportation arrangements have been announced in Delhi, Haryana, and Bengaluru.
Delhi Metro Services to Start Early

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced revised timings for metro services on certain lines for the convenience of UPSC aspirants. On May 25, services will start earlier than the regular Sunday schedule:
- Pink Line (Line-7): Trains from Majlis Park, Shiv Vihar, and Maujpur-Babarpur will begin operations at 6:00 AM.
- Magenta Line (Line-8): Trains from Janakpuri West and Botanical Garden will also start at 6:00 AM, with services from Krishna Park Extension starting even earlier at 5:50 AM.
- Grey Line (Line-9): Services from Dhansa Bus Stand and Dwarka will also commence at 6:00 AM.
All other lines will follow the usual Sunday timetable. "This arrangement is being made to facilitate the candidates appearing for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination held by UPSC this Sunday," said Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director of DMRC.
Haryana to Run Special Buses to Gurugram and Faridabad
To support candidates in reaching their examination venues, the Haryana State Transport Department will operate special bus services from all districts across the state to exam centres located in Gurugram and Faridabad.
These buses will run based on demand and the number of candidates, and will operate both on May 24 (a day before the exam) and on May 25 (the day of the exam). The official statement confirms that the transport department is coordinating these efforts to ensure all candidates can reach their destinations on time.
Bengaluru Metro Also Adjusts Timing
In a similar move, the Bengaluru Metro has announced that metro services will begin an hour earlier than usual on May 25, 2025, to accommodate UPSC Prelims candidates.
Important Exam Day Guidelines
The UPSC Preliminary Examination 2025 will be held in two sessions:
- First session starts at 9:30 AM
- Second session begins at 2:30 PM
Candidates are advised to arrive at the exam centre well in advance, as entry will close 30 minutes before each session begins. It is mandatory to carry a printed copy of the admit card and a black ballpoint pen.
These transport modifications aim to ease the commute for thousands of UPSC aspirants and ensure a smooth examination experience.
