Delhi Traffic Police Issues Safety Tips As Dense Fog Reduces Visibility; Check Do's And Don'ts
Delhi-NCR have witnessed dense fog since late December 2023. The visibility in the national capital ranged from 200m to 500m on Thursday morning.
To avoid road accidents, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for safe driving. Following are some do's and don'ts:

Do's:
- Use headlights on low beam. As the high beam gets reflected in the fog and further reduces visibility.
- Use fog lights for better visibility for both yourself and other drivers on the road.
Don'ts:
- Do not overtake during foggy weather.
- Do not rush or speed up in fog. Wait for some time to let the thick fog clear.
- Do not change lanes to avoid hitting other vehicles.
Yellow Alert Issued in Delhi
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, the weather conditions will remain partly cloudy until January 16th. Hence, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for cold day conditions in parts of the capital. Delhi schools up to class 5 will remain closed until January 10th.
