The fire originated on the eighth and ninth floors of Shapath Society in Dwarka's Sector-13, with the incident being reported at 9:58 am.

Two children-a boy and a girl, both aged 10-leapt from the balcony to escape the blaze but were declared dead upon arrival at Aakash Hospital.

Their father, 35-year-old Yash Yadav, who was engaged in the flex board business, also jumped and was later declared dead at IGI Hospital.

Yadav's wife and older son managed to survive and have been taken to IGI Hospital for medical treatment.

All residents of Shapath Society have since been evacuated as a precautionary measure. Electricity and gas supplies have been temporarily cut off to prevent any further accidents.

Authorities, including the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), have been notified to assess the structural integrity of the building following the fire.

Five fire engines were dispatched to the location, and a sky lift was also used by the fire brigade to aid in the rescue operation.
