Delhi Metro Blue Line Services Affected By Cable Theft Incident Between Moti Nagar, Kirti Nagar
Delhi Metro services on the Blue Line were disrupted on Thursday due to a cable theft between Moti Nagar and Kirti Nagar. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) informed commuters via a post on X that the issue would be resolved only after operational hours tonight. During the day, trains will operate at restricted speeds in the affected section, resulting in delays. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, as travel times will be longer.
The DMRC post read: "There is a delay in services on the Blue Line due to a cable theft between Moti Nagar and Kirti Nagar. We regret the inconvenience caused. The issue will be rectified after operational hours tonight. As the trains will run at restricted speeds during the day, delays are expected. Passengers are requested to plan their journeys with extra time."

In other news, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) successfully completed the longest underground tunnel on Wednesday, linking the Tughlakabad Airforce Launching Shaft and Maa Anandmayee Marg on the Tughlakabad-Aerocity corridor of Phase-IV.
A 105-meter-long tunnel boring machine (TBM) broke through at the Maa Anandmayee Marg station after boring a 2.65-km-long tunnel. The new tunnel, being constructed at an average depth of 16 meters, features two parallel circular tunnels for up and down movement. The breakthrough for the second tunnel is expected by January 2025. Approximately 1,894 rings have been installed in the tunnel, with an inner diameter of 5.8 meters.
