Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Attends 122nd Foundation Day of Indian Agricultural Research Institute

Delhi's chief minister celebrated the Indian Agricultural Research Institute's 122nd Foundation Day, emphasising science driven farming, climate resilient crops, and policies to link laboratory research with farm practice for durable food security and rural livelihoods.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta marked the 122nd Foundation Day of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, praising its role in shaping Indian agriculture. Gupta called the institute a backbone for farmers, noting its influence on food security, scientific farming and long-term rural livelihoods.

Addressing scientists, researchers and staff, Gupta thanked teams whose work has changed fields across the country. The Chief Minister said research at IARI helps agriculture move beyond traditional methods by using science, innovation and modern tools that can be applied directly on farms.

Gupta reminded participants that the institute played a central part in the Green Revolution, which changed India’s food production capacity.
