Delhi Bakery Owner 15-Minute Audio Note Goes Viral Amid Divorce Dispute
Puneet Khurana, a 40-year-old bakery owner in Delhi, was found dead at his Model Town residence in Kalyan Vihar area, hanging from a ceiling fan around 4.18 pm on Tuesday. The death is being looked into as a suicide by the Delhi Police. Puneet's family has pointed fingers at his wife and her parents, blaming them for harassing him, a situation they believe pushed him towards taking his own life. These serious accusations are currently the focus of the police's investigation, though there has yet to be a response from the wife and her family. The couple tied the knot in 2016 and co-owned the For God's Cake bakery, along with another restaurant called Woodbox Cafe, which has since closed.
Following the grim discovery, Puneet's body was moved to BJRM Hospital to undergo a post-mortem examination. The process, requiring a board of doctors, is set to determine the precise cause of death. Amidst their grief, Puneet's relatives are vocally accusing his wife and her family of mentally tormenting him, which they assert led to his suicide. They are calling for justice, urging that those responsible be brought to book. It has been revealed that the couple had been living apart for the past two years, despite tying the knot in December 2016, hinting at a troubled relationship.

Deputy Commissioner Bhisham Singh reported that the investigation is in full swing, with efforts focused on uncovering the truth behind Puneet's death. The police have secured Puneet's mobile phone, which is believed to harbor crucial evidence including a video recorded before his demise, and are conducting a forensic analysis. Additionally, they are probing into a complaint filed by Puneet's father and navigating through the web of allegations and counter-claims made by both families. Notably, it was disclosed that Puneet had engaged in a conversation with his wife just hours before his life came to an abrupt end, a detail that could prove significant in the ongoing investigation.
Further complicating the case is a 15-minute audio clip that has been widely circulated. "You're calling me at 3 a.m., can't you sleep? You've humiliated me and my family countless times, despite everything we've done for you," Khurana's wife said during the call. He responded, "None of that matters right now... Just tell me what you want, do whatever you please."
In reply, his wife told him, "Now you'll either threaten to take your own life, run away from home, or take over the bakery business."
This recording captures a tense argument between Puneet and his wife, centered around financial disagreements and the management of their jointly owned bakery, 'For God's Cake'. The dispute also delves into issues concerning social media account passwords and involves the use of abusive language. Friends of the deceased have come forward, stating that Puneet was under considerable stress due to menacing threats from his in-laws.
They believe these pressures played a pivotal role in his tragic decision. The police are now contemplating interrogating Puneet's wife and her relatives as they continue their thorough investigation into the matter.
