Delhi Assembly Polls 2025: AAP Mocks BJP With 'Book Of Unfulfilled Promises
In an engaging turn of events in Delhi's political scene, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh unveiled a satirical book titled 'Achievements of BJP in Delhi,' with blank pages, aiming a sharp critique at the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) track record in the national capital.
During a press conference, Singh showcased the book, asserting it reflected the unfulfilled promises made by the BJP, ranging from housing pledges to economic improvements. This move highlights the intensifying rivalry between AAP and BJP as they vie for dominance in Delhi's political landscape.

Sanjay Singh's book launch acts as a direct challenge to the BJP, questioning their accomplishments and promises to the people of Delhi. Singh's commentary during the press conference underscored the BJP's alleged failures in fulfilling promises such as providing permanent houses, doubling the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers, fortifying the rupee, and securing the country's borders.
He specifically mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi's assurances, pointing out the gaps between promises made and achievements realized. "Modi ji had made many promises after becoming the Prime Minister... The BJP people could not tell what achievements have been made in those promises, we are releasing those achievements," Singh stated.
Singh didn't stop at critiquing the BJP's unmet promises; he also escalated his attack by bringing up historical and contemporary political controversies. He criticized BJP leader Anurag Thakur for his patriotism stance, accusing BJP's forefathers of siding with the British during India's freedom struggle and allying with parties that supported controversial figures.
"Those who bow their heads at Jinnah's grave should not talk about patriotism... Will Anurag Thakur, a gunman type leader, teach us patriotism?" Singh questioned, showcasing AAP's aggressive stance against the BJP.
The AAP MP also commented on the upcoming Delhi assembly elections, noting the anticipated three-way competition among AAP, BJP, and Congress. Despite their coalition in the Lok Sabha 2024 elections, Singh pointed out the absence of Congress as a significant competitor in the Delhi assembly elections, urging them to focus on their campaign. Delhi is set to witness a closely watched electoral battle, with polls scheduled for February 5 and vote counting on February 8, signifying the high stakes and strategic positioning of the parties involved.
This political maneuver by AAP, through the release of a book with blank pages to symbolize BJP's unmet promises, underscores the heightened political drama unfolding in Delhi. It reflects AAP's strategy to directly challenge the BJP's narrative and performance, setting the stage for a contentious election season. As Delhi gears up for the polls, the actions and rhetoric of both AAP and BJP will be closely monitored, with the outcomes likely to have significant implications for the city's governance and political alignment.
