Delhi Government through DTTDC revives a long-dormant scheme to allocate a souvenir shop at Delhi Haat, INA, to persons with disabilities via an e-tender, detailing contract value, licence fees, eligibility, and possible extension.

Delhi Government plans to widen livelihood options for persons with disabilities by reserving souvenir shops at Delhi Haat, INA. The move aims to create inclusive income opportunities through a structured tender system managed by Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC).

The scheme, which had remained inactive for several years, is being revived through an e-tender. Eligible applicants with disabilities will be able to compete for a designated souvenir shop, with detailed financial and eligibility conditions already notified by DTTDC.

Delhi Haat shop allocation for persons with disabilities: contract value and licence fees

According to the tender document, the projected contract value for the shop at Delhi Haat, INA stands at Rs 30.71 lakh. The reserved monthly licence fee has been fixed at Rs 2.55 lakh, forming the financial base for bidding by interested persons with disabilities.

The initial shop allocation will run for one year. DTTDC may extend this period by another year. Any extension will involve a 10 per cent rise in the monthly sub-licence fee, and the decision will remain entirely at DTTDC’s discretion.

Delhi Haat shop allocation for persons with disabilities: eligibility and disability conditions

The tender specifies that bidders must be at least 18 years old. Applicants also need a valid government disability certificate showing a minimum 40 per cent disability. Without this document, individuals will not be considered eligible for allocation at Delhi Haat, INA.

Applicants must declare that neither they nor any family member own or run a kiosk, shop, stall or PCO booth in Delhi under any existing disability schemes of the Delhi Government. This clause aims to prevent double benefits within the same household.

The tender rules also address different disability conditions. Individuals with intellectual disability, neurological disorders or multiple disabilities, recognised as standard disability categories, may operate the shop with assistance from a family member, ensuring operations remain practical and sustainable at Delhi Haat.

If the nature of disability makes independent stall management difficult, the competent authority may permit an authorised representative. This representative will handle daily operations on behalf of the person with disability, while the primary beneficiary remains the designated licence holder under the Delhi Government framework.
