BJP veteran and former deputy prime minister Lal Krishna Advani was discharged from Apollo Hospital in New Delhi on Thursday evening.
Visuals shared by news agencies showed the 96-year-old BJP leader leaving the hospital with his cavalcade.

Advani was admitted to Apollo Hospital on Wednesday night, just days after being discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). He had been brought to the facility around 9 pm, accompanied by his daughter Pratibha Advani, as reported by ANI.
Health Updates On L K Advani
Advani was admitted under neurology department senior consultant Dr Vinit Suri. "He remains stable today after being admitted to the hospital last night. He is currently under observation of a team of doctors in the neurology department," an Apollo Hospital source said earlier today, as per media reports.
The nonagenarian leader had been discharged from AIIMS after a night-long stay there before being admitted to Apollo Hospital. His health condition has been closely monitored by medical professionals.
Political Journey and Contributions
Born on November 8, 1927, in Karachi, undivided India (now Pakistan), Advani began his political journey with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 1942. He worked as a pracharak (full-time worker) before joining the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) in 1951, which was the political wing of the RSS, as reported by Hindustan Times.
In 1980, following the dissolution of the Janata Party, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was formed. Advani was one of its key founders alongside Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Together, they played a crucial role in shaping BJP's ideology and expanding its base across India.
Family Life
Advani is married to Kamla Advani, and they have two children, Jayant and Pratibha. His daughter Pratibha has been seen accompanying him during his recent hospital visits.
Defining Moments in Politics
One of the most defining moments of Advani's political career was his leadership in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. His nationwide Rath Yatra in 1990 advocated for constructing a Ram temple at the disputed Babri Masjid site in Ayodhya. This movement galvanised Hindu nationalist sentiments and cemented his status as a mass leader.
Advani served as Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's deputy from 2002 to 2004. His contributions have left a lasting impact on Indian politics. The BJP veteran continues to be a significant figure despite his advanced age and recent health issues. His legacy in Indian politics remains influential and enduring.
