Akon Concert in Delhi: Traffic Advisory Issued for Tomorrow's Event

Thousands of music lovers are gearing up to witness global superstar Akon perform live in Delhi on November 9, but city authorities are equally preparing to keep the roads clear and movement smooth around Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Expecting close to 10,000 attendees, the Delhi Traffic Police has rolled out a detailed plan to manage the influx of vehicles and ensure public safety during the high-profile event.

Heavy Security and Traffic Measures Around JLN Stadium

With Akon's "India Tour 2025" concert scheduled between 5 PM and 10 PM, officials have warned of congestion around Lodhi Road, B.P. Marg, and the CGO Complex area. To prevent bottlenecks, traffic restrictions will be in place from 4 PM to 11 PM. Heavy Transport Vehicles will not be allowed between JLN Stadium Red Light and B.P. Marg during this time.

Commuters are being urged to take alternate routes or rely on the Metro, as parking demand and slow-moving traffic are expected in the vicinity. "We appeal to residents to avoid the area unless necessary and use public transport to minimize congestion," said an official from the Delhi Traffic Police.

Parking and Entry Guidelines for Concertgoers

Organizers have coordinated with authorities to set up designated parking areas near the venue. Visitors can park at Gate Nos. 7 to 9 and the SCOPE Complex MCD Parking, both reserved exclusively for the concert audience. Entry for attendees will be permitted through Gate Nos. 13 and 14 of the stadium.

Security personnel and marshals will be stationed around entry points to streamline movement and prevent overcrowding as fans arrive for the evening show.

Public Advisory for Smooth Movement

Delhi Police has advised concertgoers to plan ahead, expect delays, and follow instructions issued by officers deployed along the route. "People should avoid last-minute travel to the venue and cooperate with traffic personnel," said the advisory, emphasizing the need to maintain orderly movement on approach roads.

Emergency vehicles will be given priority access but have been advised to avoid B.P. Marg and CGO Complex Road wherever possible.

Officials Promise Hassle-Free Management

Authorities have assured that all diversion points will be clearly marked and traffic personnel will remain deployed until the event concludes. "All efforts will be taken to minimize inconvenience to the public," the statement read. Additional parking marshals and signboards will guide attendees toward authorized parking zones.

Akon's Delhi concert marks the artist's return to India after several years, and the city is ready to welcome both the star and his fans-while ensuring the roads stay moving.
