Vande Bharat Express Fully Booked: Coldplay Concert Sparks Ticket Frenzy

Coldplay's highly anticipated concert in Ahmedabad on January 25-26 has set off a frenzy, not just for event tickets but for train seats as well. Western Railway is witnessing an extraordinary surge in bookings, with popular trains like the Vande Bharat Express and Shatabdi Express fully packed, as per the Hindustan Times (HT) report.

Seats on these trains, ranging from luxurious executive chair cars priced at Rs 2,300 to budget-friendly sleeper coaches at Rs 280, have been snapped up by eager fans travelling from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. Many hopeful travellers are now greeted with messages like "Regret-No more booking" on railway reservation platforms.

The 16-car AC Vande Bharat Express, offering 1,128 seats across Chair Car and Executive classes, is running at full capacity. A Western Railway official noted in HT, "It's unusual to see the Vande Bharat fully booked during this period. The demand clearly shows Coldplay fever is in full swing!"

The excitement is understandable. Ahmedabad concert tickets, priced between Rs 7,500 and Rs 12,000, are far more affordable than those in Mumbai, which range from Rs 18,000 to Rs 48,000. For fans, enduring an overnight journey is a small price to pay to save significantly while witnessing their favourite band perform live.

Trains departing late at night or early in the morning are completely sold out, ensuring passengers arrive in Ahmedabad in time for the 6 pm concert at the Narendra Modi Stadium. This has added pressure to the already busy train routes.

Railway sources suggest in HT there could be plans to introduce a special Coldplay-themed train to accommodate the growing demand, similar to the dedicated trains seen during the ICC World Cup final. Fans are eagerly awaiting any announcements, as the excitement for Coldplay's concert continues to grow.

With Ahmedabad set to host thousands of fans, the city is preparing for a memorable musical experience that has already captured the imagination of the nation.
