Thane Traffic Police Ban Heavy Vehicles On Godbunder Road From Sept 18 To Oct 2 | Full Details Inside

The Thane Traffic Police have announced temporary restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles along Godbunder Road between September 18 and October 2. The decision aims to ease peak-hour congestion and ensure smoother traffic flow across major routes within the Thane Police Commissionerate.

During this period, entry for heavy vehicles will be permitted only between 12:00 am and 6:00 am. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Pankaj Shirsat said the restrictions were essential to prevent jams and streamline traffic during busy hours.

Entry Restrictions by Traffic Sub-Divisions

Kopari Traffic Sub-Division

All heavy vehicles (10-wheelers and above) entering Thane city from Mumbai and Navi Mumbai via Anand Nagar Check Naka will be stopped at Anand Nagar within Kopari division limits.

Kasarvadavali Traffic Sub-Division

Heavy vehicles (10-wheelers and above) coming from Gujarat towards Ghodbunder Road will be halted at Chinchoti Naka.

Kalwa Traffic Sub-Division

Vehicles coming from Mumbai, Virar, and Vasai towards Ghodbunder Road will be stopped near Fountain Hotel.

Vehicles entering Kalwa via Vitawa Zakat Naka on Belapur-Thane Road will be stopped at Patni Chowk in Navi Mumbai limits.

Vehicles approaching Kalwa from Retibedar on Panvel-Thane Road will be halted at Parsik Circle.

Mumbra Traffic Sub-Division

Heavy vehicles coming from Shilphata (Mumbra) via Mahape, Navi Mumbai towards Thane will be stopped at Shilphata.

Vehicles from Taloja, Navi Mumbai via Dahisar Mori heading towards Kalyan and Thane will be restricted at Dahisar Mori.

Narpoli Traffic Sub-Division

Heavy vehicles coming from Gujarat through Chinchoti Naka within Narpoli limits will be stopped at Chinchoti Naka.

Bhiwandi Traffic Sub-Division

Vehicles heading into Bhiwandi via Nadinaka on Wada Road will be stopped at Parol Phata (Nadinaka).

Vehicles entering via Vadpa check post will be diverted at Dhamangaon, Jamboli Pipeline Naka, and Chavindra Naka.

Vehicles coming from Ranjanoli Chowk towards Bhiwandi will be halted at Ranjanoli Naka.

Kongaon Traffic Sub-Division

Heavy vehicles (10-wheelers and above) entering Mumbai from Nashik will be stopped at Basuri Hotel (Saravaligaon).

Kalyan Traffic Sub-Division

Vehicles coming from Bapgaon via Gandhari along the Nashik Highway towards Badlapur, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Uran, and Nhava Sheva will be halted at Talvali Chowki under Padgha Police Station (Thane Rural limits).

Vehicles from Murbad heading to Kalyan via Shahad Bridge will be stopped at Maharal Zakat Naka.

The restrictions will remain in force until October 2, with authorities closely monitoring traffic to minimise disruption for daily commuters.
