Mumbai Local Train Services News: Mega Block Led To Diversions And Suspensions On Key Lines
In Mumbai, Central Railway has announced a five-hour mega block today, Sunday, between Matunga and Mulund stations on the slow route, both up and down. This block will be in effect from 11:05 AM to 3:55 PM. During this period, trains on the Down Slow Line, departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), will be diverted to the Down Fast Line between Matunga and Mulund stations, before returning to the Down Slow Line after Mulund.
In addition, train services between Vashi, Belapur, and Panvel will be completely suspended today due to a block on the Kurla to Vashi route, affecting both up and down trains from 11:10 AM to 4:10 PM. To minimise disruptions, special train services will run between CSMT and Kurla, as well as between Kurla and Panvel/Vashi on the Harbour Line. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.
Furthermore, Western Railway had scheduled a major 10-hour block between Goregaon and Kandivali stations, which began at 12:00 PM on Saturday and concluded at 10:00 AM today. This block was implemented to facilitate crucial construction work for the sixth railway line.
Additionally, there is a special traffic and power block on the Harbour Line between Andheri and Goregaon today for non-interlocking works. This block, lasting 10 hours, from 12:30 AM to 10:30 AM, has resulted in the suspension of suburban train services between Andheri and Goregaon on the Harbour Line.
The last local train from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Goregaon before this block departed at 10:54 PM last night, while the final train from Goregaon to CSMT left at midnight. Passengers are advised to check schedules and consider alternative travel routes as necessary to avoid any inconvenience caused by the ongoing maintenance works.
