This bridge is part of the ambitious Mumbai Coastal Road Project, designed to provide a faster connection between south Mumbai and the northern suburbs. The project will stretch from Nariman Point to Dahisar, with construction progressing in multiple phases.

Mumbai Coastal Road Project: Operational Timings

The coastal road will operate daily from 7 am to midnight, easing traffic congestion. Until now, both northbound and southbound traffic was directed onto the southbound bridge, which was opened to the public a few months ago. The addition of the northbound bridge is expected to further streamline vehicular movement.

Mumbai Coastal Road Project: Update

As per an official release, 94 per cent of the first phase of the coastal road-covering a 10.58 km stretch from Shamal Das Gandhi Marg to the Worli-Bandra Sea Link-is complete. Over 50 lakh vehicles have used the route between 12 March 2024 and 31 December 2024, with a daily average of 18,000 to 20,000 vehicles.

The new bridge is set to significantly reduce travel times and provide seamless connectivity to Mumbai's commuters.
