Official Leave to Encourage Voter Turnout
The Mumbai District Election Officer has mandated that all businesses, establishments, and workplaces provide leave to their employees on Wednesday to enable them to cast their votes. The directive is part of efforts to promote maximum voter participation and make the voting process more accessible for Mumbai's workforce.
Appeals to Voters
In a video message on Tuesday, the Election Officer, Phansalkar, urged Mumbaikars to exercise their voting rights responsibly and peacefully.
"Keep your long leave plans aside and seize the opportunity to cast your vote. Spread awareness among others about the importance of voting," he said, emphasizing the critical role of every vote in shaping the nation's future.
He also appealed to citizens through a post on X (formerly Twitter), urging them to ensure their votes contribute to putting the nation in "genuine and responsible hands."
