Kunal Kamra Reacts After Mumbai's The Habitat Comedy Studio Attacked Over ‘Gaddar’ Joke

A video of comedian Kunal Kamra calling a minister a 'Gaddar' has gone viral, triggering controversy. Following the clip's circulation, workers from Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena faction vandalized Habitat Comedy Club in Khar, Mumbai, where Kamra had performed. They later approached Khar Police Station to file an FIR against him.

Amid the uproar, Kamra responded by sharing a post featuring a diary titled "Constitution of India," captioned, "The only way forward..."

Kunal Kamra Reacts

On Sunday, Kamra had shared a satirical song set to the tune of Dil To Pagal Hai's track Bholi Si Surat, seemingly mocking a minister from Thane who drives a rickshaw, has a beard, and wears spectacles. Referring to him as a 'Gaddar,' the video quickly went viral but didn't sit well with Shinde's Shiv Sena workers.

Reacting to the situation, Aaditya Thackeray of Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena slammed the vandalism, stating on X, "Mindhe's coward gang breaks the comedy show stage where comedian @kunalkamra88 put out a song on Eknath Mindhe, which was 100% true. Only an insecure coward would react to a song. Btw, law and order in the state? Another attempt to undermine the CM and Home Minister by Eknath Mindhe."
