Karjat-jamkhed Election Results 2024: NCP-SP's Rohit Pawar Wins
Rohit Pawar, representing the NCP-SP alliance, has once again triumphed in the Karjat Jamkhed seat in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections, securing a consecutive victory against BJP's Prof. Ram Shankar Shinde.
This win reaffirms Pawar's strong position in the constituency, following his initial success in the 2019 elections where he also bested Shinde by a considerable margin. The battle took place in the scenic rural setting of Karjat Jamkhed, situated within the boundaries of the Ahmednagar (General) Lok Sabha constituency in the Ahilyanagar district.

The recent elections witnessed a notable voter engagement, with a turnout of 75.15%, albeit a slight dip from the previous 68% in 2019. Despite this minor reduction, the electorate's participation underscores the significance of this constituency in Maharashtra's political environment. Pawar's victory in the previous 2019 elections was marked by a significant lead of 43,003 votes, constituting 18.04% of the overall votes cast and securing a vote share of 56.98%. This was a stark contrast to Shinde's win in 2014, where he achieved a margin of 37,816 votes and a 43.03% share of the votes.
The Vibrant Political Spectrum of Karjat Jamkhed
Karjat Jamkhed's Assembly constituency plays a pivotal role in shaping the political narrative in Maharashtra, illustrating the dynamic shifts in voter allegiance and the fierce contest among leading political factions. The region's electoral history is marked by diverse voter turnouts and winning margins, reflecting the area's engaged and active democratic process. The outcome of the 2024 elections not only cements Rohit Pawar's popularity but also signals the community's confidence in his governance and developmental plans for the locality.
Election Dynamics and Voter Participation
The constituency saw 11 candidates vying for the seat in the 2024 elections, a slight decrease from the 12 contenders in both the 2019 and 2014 elections, and down from the 14 participants in 2009. This trend points to a competitive but somewhat consolidating political landscape in Karjat Jamkhed. Alongside, voter registration has been on an upward trajectory, indicating a growing interest in the electoral process. The number of registered voters climbed to 3,47,303 in 2024, up from 3,20,843 in 2019, further indicating an expanding electorate base since 2014, when the figure stood at 2,95,715.
The electoral results from Karjat Jamkhed in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections underscore the enduring appeal of Rohit Pawar among the electorate and their trust in his leadership capabilities.
As Pawar secures his position for another term, it highlights the constituency's evolving political landscape and the electorate's expectations for continuous development and effective governance. This victory not only reinforces Pawar's influence in the region but also sets the stage for future political endeavors and the ongoing engagement of the community in the democratic process.
