'Bigg Boss' Fame Ajaz Khan, With 5.6 million Instagram followers, Gets Only 131 Votes In Maharashtra Election

Former Bigg Boss contestant and actor Ajaz Khan ventured into politics by contesting the Maharashtra assembly election from the Versova seat under the banner of the Aazad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram).

However, he only secured 131 votes, according to the latest tally from the Election Commission.

Despite boasting over 5.6 million Instagram followers, Khan's social media fame did not translate into electoral success.

Haroon Khan is leading the race in the Versova constituency with 58,047 votes, while the NOTA (None of the Above) option has garnered 1,022 votes, nearly six times Khan's total.

The voter turnout in Versova was recorded at 42.2%.

Historically a Congress stronghold, the Versova seat saw 16 candidates competing in this election. Maharashtra experienced an enthusiastic voter turnout, not seen in over three decades.

The state went to the polls in what was expected to be a close contest between the rival alliances, Mahayuti (BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP) and Maha Vikas Aghadi (NCP(SP)-Shiv Sena(UBT)-Congress).

However, by Saturday, early trends indicated that the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance was on track to secure a significant majority in the Maharashtra Assembly.

In the 288-member house, the Mahayuti alliance was leading in 231 seats, reducing the MVA to just 51. Of the 149 seats contested by the BJP, it had either won or was leading in 130, while the Shiv Sena and NCP were leading in 56 and 39 seats, respectively.
