Baba Siddique Death: The Bizarre Case Of Pepper Spray—What Were The Accused Planning?
The investigation into the shocking murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique is unfolding, with Mumbai police exploring various angles, including the possible involvement of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
On Sunday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Datta Nalawade confirmed that two shooters have been arrested, while a third suspect remains at large.

Baba Siddique Death: The Bizarre Case Of Pepper Spray
The attack occurred on the evening of October 13, outside Siddique's sons' office under the Nirmal Nagar police station. During the incident, the police recovered two pistols and 28 live rounds from the accused. Surprisingly, the assailants were found to have brought pepper spray to incapacitate Siddique, although they failed to use it before resorting to gunfire.
In a press briefing, DCP Nalawade detailed the events surrounding the murder. "At around 9-9:30 PM, Baba Siddique was shot. An offence has been registered, and the case has been transferred to the Crime Branch. The arrested suspects were detained on the spot," he stated, confirming that the investigation will continue until October 21.
Compounding the mystery, an alleged member of the Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the murder via a social media post, citing Siddique's connections with Bollywood actor Salman Khan as a motive. The police are currently verifying the authenticity of this claim and examining any links between the case and previous threats against Khan from the Bishnoi gang.
Despite not having categorized security, Siddique was provided with three personnel from the Mumbai police at the time of the incident. One officer was present during the shooting but could not intervene effectively. The police have launched 15 teams to locate the remaining suspect, identified as Shiv Kumar Gautam, who allegedly opened fire on Siddique without utilizing the pepper spray.
Authorities have registered a case at the Nirmal Nagar Police Station, charging the suspects under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Arms Act, and the Maharashtra Police Act.
The investigation continues as the Mumbai Crime Branch delves deeper into the connections and motivations behind this high-profile murder, raising questions about the influence of organized crime in the region and its connections to the entertainment industry.
