Bomb Threat Triggers Emergency At Kolkata Airport; IndiGo Flight To Mumbai Searched
Following a bomb threat to IndiGo aircraft 6E5227, which was set to depart for Mumbai, a security concern was sparked Tuesday afternoon at Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. Officials say an anonymous caller reported that an explosive device was on board the plane, triggering emergency procedures right away.
After every traveler had finished the check-in procedure, the threat was received. Prior to takeoff, the flight was halted. It was scheduled to depart at 1:30 PM and arrive in Mumbai at 4:20 PM. After all 195 people had safely disembarked, the aircraft was moved to an isolation bay for a thorough examination.

The suitcase was offloaded and searched thoroughly, according to an airport official. Additionally, a bomb disposal unit boarded the aeroplane to conduct a thorough inspection for any suspicious objects.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which is in charge of airport security nationwide, increased security at the Kolkata airport after the incident. Authorities are working to find out who made the threatening call.
Since the Indian military's Operation Sindoor began earlier this month, this event is the second bomb scare at a major Indian airport. Terrorist networks based in Pakistan were the focus of the operation.
On May 6, a similar incident happened when an IndiGo flight from Chandigarh to Mumbai was threatened with a bomb. Later, it was determined that the incident was a hoax. Although no suspicious object has been discovered thus far in the Kolkata case, the investigation is still underway.
