WATCH Video | Zuckerberg’s ₹7.7 Crore Watch Stuns The Internet During Meta Policy Reveal
Mark Zuckerberg recently made headlines not only for his announcement on Meta’s policy overhaul but also for the rare and luxurious watch he wore during the video message. The Meta CEO was spotted donning a Greubel Forsey 'Hand Made 1’ watch, valued at approximately ₹7.7 crore ($900,000). While Zuckerberg’s statement about ditching third-party fact-checkers for Facebook and Instagram created a stir, his watch quickly became the center of social media discussions.

Zuckerberg’s Expensive Watch Steals the Spotlight
The announcement in the video was centered around Meta’s new policy changes, but it was Zuckerberg’s eye-catching timepiece that generated the most buzz. Social media users were quick to point out the staggering cost of the watch, with some commenting that it was more expensive than most people’s homes.
A venture capital firm member shared their surprise on social media, stating, “Zuck was wearing a ~$1M watch in his community notes announcement video. Nothing says I understand the culture shift of the community more than a watch that costs more than most people's houses.” Another user questioned, “Any idea why Mark Zuckerberg is wearing such an expensive watch?”
Other comments pointed out the contrast between Zuckerberg’s call for truth and transparency and his extravagant choice of accessory. One user joked, “Mark Zuckerberg wants Facebook to focus on truth and facts—aiming to channel his inner Elon and X, maybe? Bold move for a guy wearing a watch that costs more than most people’s houses. Priorities, right?”
Anant Ambani’s Watch and Zuckerberg’s Admiration
Some social media users also recalled Zuckerberg’s earlier interaction with Anant Ambani, where he admired a luxurious Richard Mille watch worn by Ambani. Zuckerberg had visited India to attend the pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, and a video of him admiring Ambani’s expensive timepiece went viral.
What Makes Zuckerberg’s Watch So Rare?
Zuckerberg’s choice of watch, the Greubel Forsey 'Hand Made 1’, is known for being an extremely rare and expensive piece. According to Bloomberg, only two or three models of this watch are made each year, making it a highly coveted item for collectors. Zuckerberg has also been seen wearing timepieces from other prestigious luxury brands such as Patek Philippe and FP Journe.
Michel Nydegger, CEO of Greubel Forsey, expressed his appreciation for Zuckerberg’s choice, saying, “It’s a pleasure to see someone who has played such a pivotal role in shaping the modern digital landscape and lifestyle show true appreciation for the most traditional approach to fine watchmaking today.”
While Zuckerberg’s policy announcements may have captured the public’s attention, it’s his rare watch that’s truly making waves on social media.
