Trump Secures Arizona, Completes Swing State Sweep In Presidential Comeback Against Harris

Donald Trump clinched Arizona on Saturday, completing the Republican's sweep of all seven swing states in the November 5 US presidential elections.

With this victory, he retained the state and its 11 electoral votes for the Republicans, reversing Democrat Joe Biden's 2020 win there.

Trump's win over Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris also marks his second victory in Arizona since 2016.

According to the latest data, Trump has so far secured 312 electoral votes, comfortably surpassing the 270 required to win the White House. In his successful 2016 campaign, he received 304 electoral votes.

US media have declared Trump the victor in more than half of the 50 states, including key swing states such as Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin, all of which voted Democratic in the previous election. He also won in the battleground states of North Carolina and Nevada.

Despite a criminal conviction and two impeachments during his tenure, Trump achieved wider margins than before.

Harris, who replaced 81-year-old Biden as the Democratic nominee in July, stands at 226 electoral votes.

With Donald Trump's defeat of Kamala Harris, control of the White House will alternate between the Republicans and Democrats for the fourth consecutive term, marking a level of volatility between the parties not seen in the United States since the late 19th century.

Biden, who stepped down from the race due to concerns about his age, is scheduled to meet with Trump at the Oval Office on Wednesday.

Trump 2.0

In preparation for his inauguration on January 20, Donald Trump has begun assembling his second administration, appointing his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, as White House chief of staff.

Wiles, 67, is the first woman to be appointed to this prominent role.

Other potential candidates for Trump 2.0 include Elon Musk, the world's wealthiest man, who could be appointed to audit government waste; former ambassador to Germany Ric Grenell, a leading candidate for the role of secretary of state; and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., to whom Trump has promised a "big role" in healthcare.
