Police Investigate Theft of USD 13 Million in Jewels and Handbags from London Mansion
A burglary in London has led to a significant police search after a thief stole jewellery, designer handbags, and cash valued at over 10.5 million pounds (USD 13.2 million) from an occupied mansion. The incident occurred on December 7 when the owners, identified as an Instagram influencer and her developer husband, were not present. However, staff members were in the house during the break-in.

Surveillance footage captured the suspect entering the property armed with an unidentified weapon. Det. Constable Paulo Roberts of the Metropolitan Police described the crime as "a brazen offense." The footage also showed a housekeeper narrowly avoiding a confrontation with the intruder, who was seen walking down a corridor moments before she exited an elevator.
Stolen Valuables and Reward Offer
The stolen items include a 10.73-carat diamond ring, diamond earrings, and a clip adorned with gold, diamonds, and sapphires. Additionally, handbags worth 150,000 pounds (USD 189,000) were taken. In response to the theft, the homeowners have announced a reward of 500,000 pounds (USD 628,000) for information leading to the suspect's arrest and conviction. They are also offering an extra 10 per cent of the value of any recovered items.
The burglar gained entry by climbing through a second-floor window of the mansion located near Regents Park, one of London's most affluent areas. The police are actively investigating this high-profile case and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
The incident highlights the vulnerability of even well-secured homes in wealthy neighbourhoods. The police continue their efforts to track down the suspect and recover the stolen goods. Meanwhile, residents in similar areas are advised to review their security measures to prevent such occurrences.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to bring those responsible to justice. The community is hopeful that the substantial reward will encourage witnesses or informants to provide crucial information that could lead to a breakthrough in this case.
