"It was a strong quake, our building shook, we're fine but I have a mess to clean up right now," she stated, highlighting the disruption caused to her store, Golden Gait Mercantile. The earthquake led to significant losses for her business, with damages surpassing those from two years prior. Kreitzer emphasized the challenge ahead, especially with the holiday season approaching, as she aimed to salvage what she could.

In response to the earthquake, Northern Californians received urgent alerts on their phones from the National Weather Service, advising: "A series of powerful waves and strong currents may impact coasts near you. You are in danger. Get away from coastal waters. Move to high ground or inland now. Keep away from the coast until local officials say it is safe to return."
