Oops! Chinese man proposes with a ring of 99 iPhones, she says no

In China, people celebrate Singles Day on November 11 every year. A young love-struck chap wanted to change his single status and to propose his love he did not buy a ring or choclates or flowers, but bought 99 iPhone 6s and made a heart shaped ring with them around his girlfriend.
This extravagant proposal, which occurred in Guangzhou, as reported by The Nanfang, cost this love-bitten chap two years' salary (about $82,000).
But sadly, even after spending so much on the arrangement did not really help him to impress the girl. On a pavement, surrounded by spectators he asked the girl who sadly said no.
After this, images from the proposal scene made it to the Weibo, China's biggest social media site, and later went viral. Several Chinese web users commented on it and said that the proposal was stupid.
Twitteratis loved it and gave their expert opinion on the matter. Twitter users made "99 iPhones" a top-trending topic with many of them using Jay Z's famous song "99 Problems" and cracked jokes on the failed proposal.
